I have a SICK 11 1/2yr old lab!!!Question::confused: :confused: :( My yellow lab has been sick since Monday. At first I thought it was kennel cough she was hacking a lot and nothing coming out.. I was giving her dexycycline 300mg every 12 hrs. That didn't work so last night I brought her to the vet. The vet doesn't think it is kennel cough because she didn't respond to the dexy. They took xrays of her lungs. They are stumped because her lungs looked clear. The vet also listened to her lungs and they were clear. They sent me home with clavamox 625mgs of it to give to her every 12 hours. They also gave me Prometh VC w/ Codeine and told me to only give it to her at night when she gets bad unless she is really bad during the day then I can give it to her. They don't want me giving her to much of it because if it is an infection they want her to hack it out. I feel sooooo bad for her because after we got home from the vet last night she starting hacking up white gooy? stuff. She seems to do ok last night after I gave her the prometh because that knocked her out. Everyone ever go through this?!?! What is your opinion? I am going to take her for a second opinion tomorrow if she doesn't improve. :( My poor girl. The really sad part is all she does is keep looking at me like help. Answer: Awee...poor sweet girl. She took 2 bites of her food and stopped because she was hacking and laid down. I tried to feed her again and she didn't want it. She is the normal lab that eats her food down usually in 2 seconds and then looks at you for more. :( :( I am sooo worried. Answer: So sorry for how she is feeling.
