i have had my first puppy and need adviceQuestion::confused: she is 9 weeks old today and i am feeding her on bakers puppy food mixed with hot water and left to cool. The owner said she fed her weetabix with cows milk for brekky and then scrambled egg for supper. and bakers in between. When we collected her today the woman said that she had heard that bakers is classed as junk food for dogs!!! is this right????? If so can you suggest what i can give her????? She also keeps picking at her food and not eating it all at once is this normal?????? Answer: I would forget about the weetabix and stuff and just feed her a good dog food three times a day. We would love to see pictures of your baby if you have time, have you decided on a name yet? Answer: Welcome to the board Answer: Welcome. I would recommend good quality dog food. One that I use and is readily available in most areas is Diamond Naturals Chicken and Rice. Even though its not labeled "puppy food", the calcium and phosphorus levels are fine for lab puppies. I get mine at Tractor Supply. There's all kinds of information on this forum about dog and puppy foods, I would recommend a search and that will catch you up. Good luck with your pup and welcome to te forum. Answer: I wish I could be of help but I'm not familiar with the foods available in the UK - I hope some of our members from across the pond will weigh in on this for you! :) Answer: Just wanted to congratulate you on your new pup. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about what high quality foods are available to you in the UK. Use the search on the tool bar on the forum & you'll be amazed at the plethora of info. Seems best to stay with 23-26%protein & preferably one source of protein & not to exceed 1/5% of calcium. Too much calcium can be bad for pups at this age. I'm confident someone will be of assistance to you. Hi..they calcium level is 1.5% not 1/5.. sorry Answer: Two good holistic foods from the UK are: James Wellbeloved Burns Answer: Never mind. |
