I'm a big kid nowQuestion:So, this may be a dumb question...but Benny is my first BABY. Does anyone know when yorkies stop growing? Answer: They slow down significantly at 6 months and stop growing at a year old. Answer: I have had three yorkies and they all stopped growing at 5 months as far as bone structure, then added some weight,if they are 3 lbs at 4 months then they weigh in at 3.5 to 4 lbs at 1 year Answer: It better be soon! Tucker will be 4 months next Monday and he's over 6 pounds! I love him and it's just more of him to love, but if he gets too much bigger I won't be able to lift him and carry him around and he loves to be carried in my arms. He's supposed to be my service dog (I have MS) but I'll end up being his servant! lol Answer: I got Katie when she was 5 months old and weighed 14 ounces. Now she's full grown and weighs 2.6 lbs. I got Codie when he was 3 months old and weighed 3 lbs. Now he's full grown and weighs 8 lbs - he's my little porker!! Answer: Stewie stopped growing when he was about 6 or 7 mos. He's just over 9 mos now and hasn't put on much weight. Answer: Maximus weighed 2.1oz at 12 weeks...at 6 months he know weighs 5.7oz..he gained 2 oz in the last 3 weeks...but before that it was like a lb a month.....lol, I think he started slowing down now! Answer: From what I understand, yorkies stop growing at 7 months. Double the weight that your pup was at 12 weeks and that is an indicator of his overall weight as an adult. I've heard double @ 12 weeks and add a pound or just double @ 16 weeks. We should do a survey of people with "full-grown" Yorkies to see which works. That woudl take forever though and I'm not doing it :p |
