flea treatment & heartworm preventive

Question:
 Sophie will be 8 wks Monday and is only about 13 oz. The vet gave me a flea treatment and a heartworm pill at her check up. When I got home I read on the heartworm treatment it is for 2-10 lbs. I haven't called the vet about this yet, but is she to small to give her this and is she too small to apply the flea treatment?

Answer:
 I can only say what I would do ...at 8 wks. I would be in no rush to be putting all those drugs on or in my pup...the risk to being exposed to a mosquito or a flea is extremely low when he's probably in the house most of the time anyway....the vet can recommend anything & everything but the final decision is yours.... :)
