Question:
 Holly so has Kirby's number, and knows how to push his buttons.
She has totally called his bluff. Kirby is aggressive dominant, and essentially dominates every dog he meets. Most dogs comply, and when they don't, there is occasionally a short scuffle. He growls if dogs try to dominate him, and very, very rarely in an natural off-lead situation has corrected another dog with a nip. He has though, and I have never corrected him. In general she will flip for him when he comes into a room, he will always lead with her following, he initiates play etc, etc. Holly is outwardly submissive, but sneaky, and a hog. She's jealous over possessions, and steals everything from Kirby.
Poor Kirby had her subdued for a little while, but lost control. He's vocal by way of a series of growls. He has an excited growl, an angry growl, a happy growl, and a move-the-heck-out-of-my-way growl. BUT, Miss Holly has figured out that those growls are followed up by nothing at all. Kirby would never in a million years lay a tooth on Holly, and I seriously wish he would. She is the type of dog who corrects well, and if she nipped her on the nose, she wouldn't do it any more. Instead he snarls and shows all his teeth, but she now knows that Kirby's snarling is worth nothing, and if she continues to steal all his food/treats/toys/bed or butts in front of him to see me, he won't do anything about it at all! :rolleyes:

 Holly is one smart Cotton... lol... I guess I have all this to look foward to if we ever get another dog... thanks for the insight Moo :) I have a feeling that Poppy will be like Kirby somehow ;)

 He acts aggressive if he has a territory or a person to protect, but dang, here he is with Holly getting her teeth all in his face, bullying him off his dinner, and he growls, but if she doesn't listen, he doesn't even look back. :rolleyes:
