What makes Daisy spend so much time finding the Right spot?

Question:
I know it must be something to do with when dogs were in the wild but Daisy drives me crazy. When it is time for her "Poo" she circles, sniffs, circles squats - not good enough circle some more, sniff some more - it just takes forever. Are all dogs like this or is she just extra particular???

Answer:
Hahahahahahaha. Holly was like that for a while, but she's gotten a lot better now that she's figured out the whole word recognition thing.
Teach her a command... and you could always try match sticking...

Answer:
OMG! I was laughing while reading this because Buddy is the same way! I takes 20 minutes to walk him 1 block! I started to reward him with a small treat after he did his duty, but now he got smart and tries to fake me out, he squats and comes running over for his treat...

Answer:
My dog Daisy does the same thing. Sniff, turn, sort of squat, get up walk back the other way, repeat until finally choosing initial spot or one about 5 feet away after going through the process.
It drives me nuts some times (hubby says she does it for that reason) and she's done this since she was a pup. We go for walks after breakfast, when I get home from work, after dinner and before bed (getting a biscuit/treat after). That doesn't count the "weather checks" or to see whats going on outside.
Samson is great he finds a spot and just goes:) with out the potty dance..

Answer:
I think it is a dog consperacy (sp), and have you ever noticed that it takes even longer in the rain lol.

Answer:
OMG yes!!! The rain is going side ways, she just can't find the right spot and doesn't like getting rained on, so then we add sulking into the mix....
