What do you think she is?Question:3 Attachment(s) I have a very sweet pound dog that was rescued 3 yrs ago. She is about 5 yrs old, weighs a little under 50 pounds right now, and is about knee high at the top of the shoulder (little over a foot and a half). I am just wondering what you all think she might have in her. I have a few opinions and have some opinions of other well versed individuals, and we can't seem to agree. Obviously, it is impossible to know for sure (w/out DNA testing), but throw out your best ideas! I posted some various shots, side and front. She really has good muscling in her hind legs from our long walks, and she seemed to muscle up really quickly and easily (I got her in July when she was very out of shape and a bit over weight). Go ahead and critique her body condition and muscling as well. I am pretty proud of how she looks, but we are always happy to improve! Answer: Maybe pit/GSD mix. Whatever she is she is really cute! Ya know.. there is a DNA test for dogs that you can do. Answer: 2 Attachment(s) I definitely know about the DNA testing, but feel that is unnecessary for us! We just like to guess. Here are some more pictures that show things a little better! Answer: Guessing is always fun :) Answer: Her markings are exactly like my Mira, from the mask on the face to the white toes and the black tail with tan underneath! Crazy! We got Mira from a pound in Louisianna. We don't know what she is either! Answer: I can see the GSD...but there are many other things I see after that. These mixed breeds can keep us guessing for the longest time, and they sure are sweet! Answer: I see pit shepherd and lab..so probably one of those really mixed ones...personally i dont think dna works..I saw some dogs that they tested some of em had come out with all breeds that wouldnt at all make em look like they did...lol guessing is funner and I think you can get a good idea, also who cares on the breed, we love em anyways:D Answer: Horse people have been using DNa testing in horses for many years and it is atried and true method. I guess it goes to show you that despite our best ideas, we have really no idea how genetics will craft the mixed breeds in the ways that it does! All this aside, I find guessing to be cheap and amusing! Answer: Well how does a supposed German shepherd, pit, collie mix (by dna testing)look like a small papillon sheltie mix??? I dont think it works to great...lol I just dont think that it is most efficient yet... |
